I am a self-taught, graphite artist with a focus on commissioned portraiture.

I have been drawing for as far back as I can remember.  In grade school, I would doodle along the edges of my workbook and use the back of worksheets as my "canvas."  Back then, most of my drawings were of well-known cartoon and comic book characters.  My first real attempt at a portrait wasn’t until my senior year in high school.

In the summer of 2016, I launched JRichArts as the platform to share my talent, provide income for my family, and open doors to new experiences.  It was prompted, in part, by a Facebook comment asking if I did commissioned work.  This simple question was the push I needed, and JRichArts began in earnest, with nearly 30 pieces completed within the first 16 months!

I currently reside in Omaha, Nebraska helping to raise two boys and two girls with my wife, Meagan.  In my coveted leisure time, I especially enjoy being outdoors--hiking, camping, and fishing.  I also run trails and bike several times a week to stay in some sort of shape.  I am adventurous when it comes to trying out new foods and like to pair my “foodie-ness” with both wine festivals and live music.
